Back to School Safety Reminder: Anonymous Reporting Is Available

Posted Date: 08/20/26 (09:00 AM)

Dear Parents,

As we begin the 2026–2027 school year, we want to make sure our students, parents, and families are aware of an important resource available through our schools.

At Central Union High School District, the safety and well-being of our students and school communities is a shared responsibility. Our school websites feature Catapult EMS Anonymous Reporting, which allows students, parents, and community members to report concerns anonymously.

Reports may include:

• Bullying or harassment
• Discrimination
• Concerns about the safety or well-being of yourself or someone else
• Threats or concerning behavior
• Other concerns that may impact the safety and well-being of our school community

If you see something, hear something, or are concerned about someone, speak up. You don't have to know exactly what to do or have all the answers. Reporting a concern can be the first step toward getting someone the help and support they need.

Find Anonymous Reporting on your school's website.

Talk to Your Student About School Threats

As we begin a new school year, we also encourage parents and guardians to have an important conversation with their children about school threats and the serious consequences of making a threat, even as a joke.

A school threat is never a joke.

Comments or posts about bringing a weapon to school, harming others, or attacking a school can cause fear and disrupt our entire school community. Making a threat, even if someone says they were “just kidding,” can result in serious school, legal, and other consequences.

Please remind your student: “Don't make it. Don't share it. Don't ignore it. Report it”

Visit www.ecschoolsafety.com, to learn more about the serious consequences of making school threats.

If your child sees or hears something concerning, encourage them to tell a trusted adult or use the Anonymous Reporting tool available on their school's website.

If there is an immediate emergency or someone is in immediate danger, do not use the Anonymous Reporting system. Call 911.

We all play a role in creating safe, supportive schools. Let's start the school year by looking out for one another and speaking up when it matters.

Sincerely,

Dr. David Farkas,

Central Union High School District
