Families currently experiencing open child welfare cases, or youth with open child welfare cases

• Out-of-Home Probation: Students who are the subject of a petition filed under WIC Section 602 and removed from the home
• Family Maintenance: Students who are the subject of a petition filed under WIC Section 300 and remain in the home receiving court ordered family maintenance services. 
• Non-Minor Dependents (Only a subset - those enrolled in a K-12 school): Students age 18 enrolled in High School, including those receiving special education services until age 21. WIC Section 451
• Voluntary Placement Agreements: Students who are under the placement and care of a Child Welfare agency and removed from the home through a voluntary placement agreement as defined in WIC 11400 (o) & (p)
• Tribal Foster Youth (AB 1962): Students who are under the jurisdiction of a tribal court as defined under EC Section 42238.01(b)

Families living in shelters, motels, hotels, camping grounds, or dilapidated trailers due to lack of alternative housing; Living in emergency or transitional housing; Living in cars, parks, public spaces, abandoned buildings, or substandard housing; or living in public or private places not designed for or ordinarily used a regular space to sleep. Families currently doubled up with other people (families) due to loss of housing or economic hardship. 

Families/Youth experiencing challenges such as economic hardship, a change of circumstances at home causing trauma, and distress; thus, the inability to focus during school/class. The FRC Coordinator can refer the youth/families to community resources, and/or school related services. 

The Family Resource Center has clothes, hygiene products, school supplies, pantry items, as well as a washer and dryer available for the abovementioned youth. The FRC Coordinator can assist Foster Youth and Homeless Youth with understanding their rights.
